Beatrice Ann Hering, eighty-three, of
Navarre, Florida passed away on November 5, 2024.
Ann was born in Columbus, Ohio where she received a bachelor's degree in education from Ohio State University. Ann taught grade school in underprivileged communities across the country; Worked for the Florida State government; and ran various businesses jointly with her husband, Steven Hering (m. 1978). Among some of the businesses and ventures were: Real Estate Associates, Guam's largest real estate real estate company, which dealt with investors from Japan, China, Taiwan, and Korea; diet center and GNC franchises in Guam; a Club Z In- Home Tutoring Service Franchise for Okaloosa County; and developed multiple subdivisions on Navarre Beach Island including Grand Navarre, By The Sea, and Mer Sea.
Above all, Ann ("Nonnie" to her grandchildren) was a dedicated mother, grandmother, wife and ardent patriot who valued education, politics, and hard work. Her baking and cooking skills were coveted and her love for animals was unmatched. Ann and her husband, Steve, were inseparable; Their love for one another was abundantly clear to all who knew them. Her family is honored by her memory as a woman of timeless elegance who will be sorely missed. Ann was a Christian and a member of St. Augustine Episcopal Church of
Navarre, Florida.
Ann is preceded in death by her mother (Beatrice Ann Walters), father (Frank Walters), brother (Richard "Dick" Walters), and son (James "Jay" Hallwood Hering).
Ann is survived by her two sons (Christopher Allen Hering and Brent Hering); her daughter-in-law (Chris's wife Paula Ann Hering); two sisters-in-law (Joice Walters and Suzy Hering Jones); her niece-in-law (Suzy's daughter Jessica Garritano); eight grandchildren (Peter Joseph Hering, Chistopher Steven Hering, Bo Allen Hering, Nathaniel Walker Hering, Taylor Ann Hering, Jacob Miller Hering, Reese Christine Hering, and Reagan Paige Hering); her granddaughter-in-law (Peter's wife Melissa Hering); and three great-grandchildren (Lucy Grace Hering, Peter Joseph Hering Jr., and Colt Lee Hering).
At this time, no funeral arrangements have yet been made. As soon as arrangements are made, the family will inform the community. Thank you to those that have assisted in this difficult time.
