Beatrice Riggs, 91, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Moundridge Manor. She was born on January 22, 1934 in Ithaca, Michigan, to Francis S. and Anna B. (Mininger) Peters. Beatrice attended schools in Michigan and Florida. Beatrice was united in marriage to LeRoy Schmidt on March 23, 1962. He passed away December 25, 1966. She later married Archie Riggs on June 27, 1971. He passed away March 6, 2017. Beatrice was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of the Meridian Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in Hesston. Beatrice is survived by four children, Keith Schmidt (Marsha) of Arthur, Illinois, Marla Campbell (Roger) of Newton, Jason Riggs (Luci) of Moundridge, and Jewel Martin (Michael) of Tonasket, Washington; brother, Wilbert Peters (Imo), Brooksville, Mississippi; three sisters, Louise Ensz (Abe), Hillsboro, Lois Eicher (William), and Kathleen Wenger (John) both of Brooksville, MS.; three sisters-in-law, Vesta Peters, Walnut Hill, Florida, LaVerna Unruh, Moundridge, and JoAnn Schmidt, Montezuma; brother-in-law, L. John Becker, Walker, Missouri fifteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; her husband, Archie; two brothers; and two grandchildren, Jodi and Jesse Campbell. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Meridian Mennonite Church, Hesston. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, at the Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Moundridge Manor in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, PO Box 410, Moundridge, KS 67107.
