Beatrice Hinesmon-White, delightfully known as (Bea-Bea), was born February 14, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was baptized as a young lady and later rededicated her life to Christ in 1983 at Christian Fellowship Center. Despite her strength and determination. she departed this life on February 28, 2025. She trusted in God and found comfort and guidance in her spiritual beliefs.
She was the beloved daughter of; James Archie and Louise White who preceded her death along with her nine siblings, Gussie Mae Brown (Lamar), James Griffin White, Archie White, Barbara Dickson (Nate), Donald White (Marcie), Ida Louise Woods (Ernest), Allen White, Joyce Delores Gilbert (Kervin) and Terrell White (Barbara) she was the youngest of the ten, and `the last one to depart from this earthly home.
Beatrice was born and raised in Cleveland and educated through the Cleveland Public Schools system. She also worked for Cleveland Public Schools and later retired from there (Cleveland Board of Education); after which she worked for the Ohio Department of Liquor Control Board and Shaker Heights City Schools. She was a Eastern Star and a member of the National Caucus on Black Aging as well as a highly recognizable active member of several committees where she made physical contributions as the LAC Financial Secretary and Elected President of the City of Cleveland (CMHA) LaRonde Local Advisory Council. She showed much dedication as an outstanding civic volunteer that gained her many certificates of appreciation and recognition.
She was a woman who loved music, traveling, painting/drawing and yes, even dancing and she was good at it (she could shake a tail feather), back in the day she was a regular visitor of the infamous "Leo's Casino of Cleveland" where R & B and Motown artists would perform. The original Leo's Casino was located on 49th & Central, where she met famous people like (Flip Wilson, Joe Tex and Ray Charles, just to name a few).
She married Travis Hemans and after her children were raised, she later married Larry Hinesmon who both preceded her in death. She was a proud mother of four daughters, Clara Louise White, Fredia Maria Walton (Albert), Benne Christian, Brooksandra Hemans, with two bonus sons Fredrick Barthany (Alethea), Brent Barthany (Yvette). Twelve grandchildren who are Shawn (Coya), Karla (Gus, deceased), Serene (Reggie), Ivan, Steven, Charon, Christina, Cristal, Chanel, Cristofer, Richard Michael & Lauren (Vic) with 35 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends with a lifelong (sista friend) Shirley Farmer, since elementary school,
Beatrice loved giving, (she actually gave a friend the curtains off her kitchen windows) and literally gave a stranger the sweater off her back! She was respected and loved for kindness and dedication to her family and friends and will be remembered and missed by many. Her love and devotion to her family and friends will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
