Rebecca (Becky) Kate Dougan, passed away on November 27, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Born on January 14, 1959, in Fort Worth, TX, Becky lived a life of love, compassion and service.
Her early years were spent in Ft. Worth, TX area, where she attended elementary school and graduated from Diamond Hill High School. She received her Bachelor's degree in Home Economics at TCU. Later, she went on to acquire a Master's degree at William Woods University in curriculum, which laid the foundation for her dedication to teaching. Her love for children and her artistic talents were intertwined as she invested in early childhood development, to junior high and high school education. Her creative abilities were put on display through her detailed bulletin boards for many, and the atmosphere she cultivated for the youth in her classrooms.
On April 29, 1989, in Arlington, TX, Becky and Doug joined in marriage. In 1993, the couple moved to Missouri. As a genuine people person, Becky's interests were always outward facing. Her servant heart led her to years of selflessly giving her time to those in need. Volunteering with organizations such as, Mission Arlington, Jesus Was Homeless, and youth organizations to name a few. At a young age, Becky gave her heart to Jesus and quickly adopted an intuition to those around her. This became her foundation for serving people at multiple churches including First Baptist Church of Arlington and Branson, The River, and James River Church, making a significant impact on multiple communities.
Becky's friends and family will remember her as the embodiment of selflessness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and a woman of faith. Her legacy is one of unwavering kindness and devotion to serving others.

The most prominent memories I have of Aunt Becky are from recent years where we had a closer relationship than in the past. Her unwavering positivity and open spirit were contagious. When she supported our family in the days after my dad passed last year she generously gave her bright energy, lots of hugs, and much-needed heartfelt levity to our remembrances of dad as a teenager and young adult. Despite challenges in her life, I admired her ability to maintain a positive perspective and find a way to move forward. We should all be so courageous as we seek peace, comfort, and gratitude through the impact that she made on us during her life. My sincerest condolences to Doug, Ryan, Alyssa, and other friends and family during this time of grief.
