Ben Bravek

Benjamin Franklin Bravek was born on his family farm on January 22, 1935, to Joseph & Anna (Petula) Bravek. He spent his whole life on the family farm with his Dad and uncles. Ben loved the farm and working with his dad, they had a special bond. He always had time to help neighbors and other family with silage cutting, combining or whatever was needed. On October 4, 1958, Ben married the love of his life Jeanette (Konechne) and to this union five children were born.
Ben enjoyed watching his kids grow with their many school activities. He was a long-time member of the Brule County Coop Board and was also the President & member of the Kimball School Board. He was very proud to help babysit grandkids and great grandkids. One of his proudest moments was carrying his one-year-old great granddaughter, Madison, down the aisle at his granddaughter, Stacie Niles's wedding.
His family was the most important part of his life. He learned a lot about hockey and soccer, which he never followed until his grandkids were involved in it.
Ben passed away at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, on September 22, 2023, at the age of 88 years.
Grateful for being part of his life are his surviving family. His spouse of 64 years Jeanette

Ben was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna, a sister Dorothy, mother & father-in-law – Paul & Mayme Konechne, two brothers-in-law, a niece and two nephews.

Visitation & Rosary at 9:00 AM Thursday September 28th with the Funeral Mass following at 10:00 AM at St Margaret's Catholic Church in Kimball, SD. Burial will be at the Bendon Cemetery with lunch following at the St Margaret's church basement.
