Obituary published on Legacy.com by Garnand Funeral Homes - Garden City on Jun. 19, 2025.
Ben Guebara, 64, passed away Monday June 16th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones at his home in
Garden City, Kansas. He was born January 23, 1961 in Brownfield, Texas; the son of Silvester and Susana (Castillo) Guebara.
Ben moved to
Garden City, KS at a young age and went to Garden City schools and later worked for several years in refrigeration maintenance at Tyson. Ben is the oldest of 10 children. He will be remembered by his siblings for taking care of them while their dad was away. Ben became a 'father-figure' to them and was loved and respected by all his siblings.
Ben enjoyed spending time with his family. His children and grandchildren will remember his laughter, kindness, humor, and his art of showing up when he was needed without being asked. He was the grandpa that would drop in with donuts or to read a book. He taught his children about Jesus and the importance of family and loving one another.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his mother Susana Guebara, his children Jason Guebara, Jessica Guebara, Kaitlin Guebara (Jacob), Julio Guajardo, Naveah Guebara, Josiah Guebara, Elijah Herrada, and Ellianna Herrada. His grandchildren Isaiah Urias, Jeremiah Urias, Elijiah Flores, Antonio Ketkan, Aidyn Fajardo, Armani Fajardo, Ariez Fajardo, Avey Fajardo, Yaretzi Guajardo, Ezekiel Guajardo, and Nariyah Guajardo. His siblings Ralph Guebara, Paul Guebara, George Guebara (Elva), Silvia Guebara, Andy Guebara, David Guebara (Koleen), Raquel Amaro (Hector), and Rebecca Guebara (Chris).
We are comforted in the fact that he will be in heaven reunited with his dad Silvester Guebara, grandparents Francis and Bernardino Guebara, Raphael and Dominga Castillo; his brother Tony Guebara, and niece Silvia Dawn Guebara.
Visitation will take place from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Sunday June 22, 2025 at Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm (Noon) Monday June 23, 2025 at Cornerstone Church with Pastor Casey Harmon officiating. Burial will follow immediately in Valley View Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Ben Guebara Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
