With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Juanita T. Guebara, on April 23, 2025, at the age 76. She battled cancer and other illnesses with fierce determination for so many years. She was a pillar of strength, love, and wisdom in our lives.
Born on October 26, 1948, in Austin, Texas, Juanita was the daughter of Alfredo Torres and Guadalupe Gomez. She grew up surrounded by a large and close-knit family that shaped her strong spirit and unwavering resilience.
As a mother, Juanita was the heart of our family. She gave tirelessly of her time, love, and wisdom to raise her children, teaching us values of kindness, perseverance, and faith.
She is survived by a family who loved her immensely: Husband, Cruz Guebara, Sons, Blas Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez with wife Angie, and daughter Sandra Flores with husband Freddy. Her devotion to her family extended across generations. She was a proud grandmother to Sabrina Flores, Michael Rodriguez, Julio Flores with wife Bethany, and a cherished great-grandmother to Emma Rodriguez, Alaina Rodriguez, Olivia Flores, Sophia Flores, and Andrew Flores. Her legacy lives on through them.
She is also remembered with love by her surviving siblings: brother David Torres and sister Lucy Solis and the many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who held her dear. She now joins her parents, and her late siblings Joe Torres, Roy Torres, Fred Torres, Jesse Torres, Maria Torres, and Antonia Osborne, in eternal peace.
Throughout her life, she confronted life's challenges head-on with grace and grit, never hesitating to speak her mind. She was a straight shooter-honest to the core-and deeply loving in all that she did. She was a woman of great faith, and her spiritual convictions provided comfort and guidance to many. Her resilience in the face of adversity was not just admirable but contagious, fostering a sense of hope and strength in others.
As we honor the memory of our beloved Juanita, we are reminded of the countless lessons she taught us-lessons not just through her words, but through the beauty of her actions and the love she shared with everyone around her. While we will miss her presence deeply, we find comfort in knowing her spirit will continue to surround and guide those she loved. She will forever be remembered as a radiant soul-loving, courageous, and full of life. To us, she will always be the strongest woman we will ever know. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her is forever blessed.
