Ben McGee, 70 of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Monday, August 18, 2025 at Lemons Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Ben was born on January 11, 1955, in Plainview, Texas, to Percy McGee and Jennie Mae (Craft) McGee. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1974. Ben served his country as a member of the National Guard.

On May 25, 1974, Ben married Doris Russell in Olton, Texas. Together, they raised two daughters in Plainview, where he worked as a guard at TDCJ, in security at Walmart Distribution, and as a preacher.

A lover of Scripture, Ben devoted time to reading and studying the Bible. He found joy in everyday tasks such as doing the laundry, and he was passionate about football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Skilled with his hands, Ben was also known as a handyman and mechanic. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and provider, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him.

Ben's legacy lives on through his wife, Doris McGee of Plainview; his daughters, Tommecia McGee (with Tracy Williams), and Micki Price (with Joseph), both of Plainview; his sisters, Rosie McGee of Spokane, Washington, and Johnnie Mae Toombs McGee of Tennessee; his cousin, Aunt Tottie of Eudora, Arkansas; and five grandchildren: Ben McGee (with Liberty Crawford), Mikayla McGee Duncan, Isaiah McGee Price, Joseph McGee Price, Jr., and Ta'Kayla McGee Williams.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Jennie McGee; four brothers, Jesse, Charles, Edward, and Percy McGee, Jr.; and one sister, Willie Mae McGee.
