Benjamin Howard Norman, age 36, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on October 24, 2025. Born on March 2, 1989, Ben was the beloved son of Timothy and Halliday Norman and the older brother to Annelise. He was raised in Lawrenceville and was a member of Smoke Rise Baptist Church. Ben attended George Walton Academy in Monroe, Georgia, from kindergarten through graduation and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in informatics from Mercer University.
Ben was known for his gentle spirit, his patient and kind nature, and his care and affection for others. He had a remarkable gift for helping people understand technology, often offering guidance with warmth and understanding. A creative problem solver with a lifelong love of both technology and music, Ben was an accomplished cellist and pianist who joined his first orchestra at the age of nine. He loved playing the trumpet in George Walton's Marching Band. Ben held positions with Opus Integrated Business Systems, Custard Insurance Adjusters and finally with Georgia Tech as an Academic and Research IT Engineer. He also enjoyed video games throughout his life and found joy and community in the gaming world.
Ben will be remembered most for his sweetness, his compassion, and his unwavering belief in the good in others. He chose to see the best in people and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His gentle heart and generous spirit touched all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Benjamin is survived by his parents, Timothy and Halliday Norman, and his sister, Annelise Chick, Ph.D. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 2, at Smoke Rise Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens.
