Ben Michael Tate, 70, loving father of Kellie Frederick and Katherine "Kathi" Tate, left his earthly home on Monday, May 13, 2024. He was the son of the late Ben W. and Sally Kelly Tate, born in Lexington on Dec. 28,1953, but was a life long resident of Jessamine County, having been a graduate of Jessamine County High School. Ben was a US Army veteran and a retired employee of the US Postal Service. He liked sports, especially the Cincinnati Bengals. Attending games became a weekend activity for the family. He loved fast cars; his favorite was a red Corvette. Hanging out with his nephew Jacob and attending gun and knife shows was very special to him in his later years. His family described him as being a simple man who contributed to many many charities. In addition to his daughters, he will be fondly remembered by his brother Ken Tate and wife Nancy, as well as his nephew Jacob Murphy, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kristen, Natalie, Bo, Michael, and Alexandra, great granddaughter Rozzlyn and great grandson Cyrus (arriving soon). He was preceded in death by a sister Betty Jo Tate. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held in Camp Nelson Cemetery with Military Honors to be scheduled after Memorial Day and will be announced soon, "Good friends are hard to find and impossible to forget." Cremation was chosen by Ben's family in accordance with his wishes. Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home is privileged to care for Ben's arrangements
