Ben Delno Tate, 80, passed away peacefully at Friends of Hospice Serenity House surrounded by family on Monday, September 1, 2025. Ben was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Lou Tate; sister Doris (Albert) Davis; brothers Donell Tate, Jack Tate, and Bill Tate; and wife of 54 years Emma "Susie" Tate. He is survived by son the Rev. Timothy (Denna) Tate; daughter Amy Tate; grandchildren Brandon (Ashley) Davis, Christian Tate, and Amarii Fulton; great-grandchildren Zoey Davis, Ava Davis, Elias Davis and Akira Tate; sister Mary Isom; brothers Lacy (Pauline) Tate, Jerry (Della) Tate, and Charles (Pamela) Tate; brother-in-law Bill (Pat) Isom; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ben was a long-time employee of American Enka, subsequently a retiree of BASF / Lenzing Fibers, and spent multiple years in his retirement as a part-time employee at Walters State Expo Center. Ben loved the outdoors and spent most of his years gardening, hunting, and fishing throughout the Lakeway area. He never met a stranger and had a nickname for most everyone in his life. Ben's greatest love in the later years of his life were his grandchildren and his best fur friend, Boots.
