Benedict G. Neiderer

Benedict G. Neiderer, age 68, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 23, 2025. He was the loving husband of Denise A. (Strausbaugh) Neiderer; together they shared 43 years of marriage.
Benedict was born in Hanover, PA on October 8, 1956 and was the son of the late George and Nadine (Berwager) Neiderer. He graduated from Delone Catholic High School Class of 1974 and worked as a supervisor at Neiderer Sanitation, LLC in New Oxford all his life until his retirement due to his illness. Benedict enjoyed watching Hallmark movies with his wife every Saturday night, as well as Bonanza and John Wayne movies. He also enjoyed playing the jars. Benedict was a life member of S.A.V.E.S. and the McSherrystown Home Association. Above all, he was proud of his son and looked forward to seeing his many accomplishments.
In addition to his loving wife Denise, Benedict is survived by his son Matthew Neiderer and fiancé Samantha and her daughter Mylie. He is also survived by his siblings Jeffrey Neiderer, Gregory Neiderer, Anthony Neiderer, Judy Epley and husband Tom, Gloria Neiderer, Catherine Kohler and husband Kenneth, Joan Hagarman and husband John, Jeanette Huff and husband Jerry, Annette Flannery, and Nancy Bevenour and husband Dennis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his cherished cat, Pumpkin. Benedict was preceded in death by his brothers James Neiderer, Dennis Neiderer, Richard Neiderer, Timothy Neiderer and Terry Neiderer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Benedict's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Basilica, 30 Basilica Dr., Hanover, PA 17331 with Rev. Dwight D. Schlaline as celebrant. He will be laid to rest following the Mass at Conewago Chapel Cemetery in Hanover. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344 with prayers at 7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Benedict's memory may be made to the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
