HUDSON-Benita V. Aldrich, age 97, of Hudson, died Friday evening, September 5, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family while in the care of Elara Caring Hospice. She was born September 27, 1927, in Pittsford, the daughter of Elvin and Anna (Park) Peltier. She married Leland D. "Stub" Aldrich on August 4, 1943, in Adrian. They raised two sons and enjoyed 73 years of marriage before his passing on August 12, 2016.
Benita sold Avon Products for 60 years, retiring in 2014. Stub and Benita had a home at Strawberry Lake in Evart, MI where they spent their summers, while wintering in Haines City, FL. They enjoyed playing cards and dancing with friends and family. Benita always anticipated annual trips to Nashville with her grandchildren, where they would attend shows at the Grand Ole Opry. She was a longtime faithful member of the Hudson First United Methodist Church. Always busy, Benita was a wonderful mother and grandmother who took great care of her family, whom she dearly loved.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (Gertrude) Aldrich of Jackson, MI, and Jerry (Mary Lou) Aldrich of Hudson; a brother, Albert "Pete" Peltier of Ransom, MI; ten grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Marry Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Jackie Roe officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday afternoon, from 3 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to benefit the Hudson First United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Marry Funeral Home, Hudson.
