Benito "Ben" Moreno, III
Passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 65. Ben was born on April 22, 1958, in Yuma, Arizona to his parents Benito, Jr. and Santos (Gonzalez) Moreno. He was raised in Michigan and graduated from Ithica High School, class of 1976. After high school, Ben embarked on a 33 year career with General Motors, retiring in 2009 as a plumber and pipefitter. He was also very skilled mechanically and trained in HVAC. After retirement, Ben worked in maintenance for numerous companies, including Meijer and Quality Dairy.
He was always known to be a hard worker and was committed to physical health and exercise. He loved spending time at his lake house on Higgins Lake, traveling with his family, or indulging in the simple pleasure of a coffee and cigar on his porch.
Ben has been a proud friend of Bill W. for 34 years and has made numerous friendships along the way. Above all, Ben cherished his family and the time he spent with them. He especially adored his grandchildren and would spoil them every chance he had.
He is preceded in death by his father, Benito, Jr. and his siblings, Raymond Moreno, Stella Powell, and Carmon Dutton. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, DeAnn Moreno, mother, Santos, children, Paige (Brandon) Eldridge, Tyler (Jes) Moreno, five grandchildren, Camila, Domanic, DJ, Clayton, Carter, one brother, Steve (Lisa) Moreno, sisters, Linda (Andy) Anderson, Teresa Silvas and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place at the Eaton Rapids chapel of Skinner Funeral Home on Monday, August 14, 2023, starting at 11:00 am and concluding with a brief service and a time for shared remembrances starting at 1:00 pm.
