Benjamin Flynn Hunt, 39, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. He was the beloved and cherished son of Jeffrey Hunt and Cheryl Flynn.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Ben resided in Indiana for the past 8 years, after growing up in Texas and Rhode Island.
He was a passionate Star Wars fan with a love for the epic stories that sparked his imagination. A Boston sports enthusiast through and through, he faithfully supported the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. He participated in fantasy football leagues yearly and loved trash talking his friends and younger brother. His love for science fiction and fantasy extended to reading, where he found excitement in exploring new worlds from Kings Landing in Westeros to Hobbiton in Middle Earth. He was a reluctant golfer, but often joined his grandmother Joan and his best friend Bryan Graveline on the course. Ben and Bryan met in middle school and remained friends for the rest of Ben's life. They shared an irreverent sense of humor that was appreciated by all, from their little league coaches to their families. Ben's quirky and insightful take on life, from galaxies far, far away, to national politics and history, and to the Italian delis of Rhode Island, will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved siblings, two sisters: Samantha Hunt, Olivia Hunt and her husband Stephen, and his brother Daniel Hunt and his fiancée Meg. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Joan Flynn of Old Lyme, CT, with whom he had a close relationship, along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ben's rescue dog, Leia, resides with Ben's parents and is a comfort to the family during this sad time.
Ben was the grandson of the late Kenneth (Pa) Flynn, Ivan (Ike) Hunt, and Janet (Bunty) Hunt.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to join the family at Visiting Hours on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland.

Dear Dr.Hunt,
My daughter Melissa pointed out the news of what happened to your son and I would have been remiss if I didn´t say something. I am so very sorry for your loss. It truly was a tragedy. I hope you find peace and comfort with the rest of your family in the days ahead by knowing that Benjamin is in a good place now.
