Benjamin (Benjie) Querubin Jr.
August 9th, 1950 - June 16th, 2025
Benjie was diagnosed in December of 2024 with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was born in 1950 to his parents, Benjamin Querubin and Juanita Querubin, in Lihue Kuai, Hawaii. He played football in all his school years.
He was a proud Air Force Veteran. He was drafted on October 9, 1970, and was based in Indiana. He was then sent to the Philippines at Clark Air Force Base. He was then ordered to Anderson Air Force Base on November 21, 1977. He was discharged and came to Ogden, UT, on November 20, 1983. Benjie worked at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic and as a Federal Civil Service employee. He retired after a total of 38 years of service.
Benjie's passions were his powerlifting training and competitions. He was an avid snowboarder in the beautiful mountains of Utah (Snowbasin). He also loved mountain biking in the Spring and Summer months. But the one thing he loved beyond words was his prized jeep that he worked on every day.
He was married to Alice Louise Morris for twenty-three years. They had two beautiful children: their Daughter, Rebecca Martinez, and their son, Benjamin Querubin.
He married Cindy Holek on September 15, 2017, in Farmington, Utah.
Benjie is survived by his wife, Cindy, his previous wife, Alice, his daughter Rebbeca (Jody), his son Benjamin, four grandchildren, and his two sisters, Catherine and Caroline.
Benjie, may you rest in peace in God's loving arms.
We would like to thank Dr. Sediq and Dr. Bromberg for their exceptional care. The entire ALS Clinic at the University of Utah. Many thanks to the VA and their loving and caring hospice team. Especially Benjie's hospice RN, Linda Hendrickson, at Enhabit Home and Health Hospice. She gave Benjie the greatest care in the world. We would also like to thank Miller for all he did for Benjie and me. And a special thank you to VA Social Services.
