Benjamin Spinello

Benjamin Spinello, 29, of Davis, IL, passed away at home on November 16, 2024.
Born on June 3, 1995, in Rockford, Benjamin was the beloved son of Laura and Joe Spinello. He is survived by his sister, Claire (Dustin) Webb, and was a proud uncle to Levi, Jaxon, and Rosalind. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Cathryn McCoy, and Peggy Spinello.
Benjamin's life was marked by his creativity, intelligence, and immense generosity. He was a professional poker player and the owner and host of a popular Airbnb. He made countless connections with people from all over, always welcoming them with warmth and kindness. A quiet soul with a heart of gold, Benjamin would go out of his way to help anyone in need. His infectious sense of humor and keen intellect made him a cherished friend to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Benjamin was an avid chess player, competing in tournaments across the state and nationally, earning numerous victories. His love for the game was a testament to his sharp mind and passion for strategy. A passionate Green Bay Packer fan, Ben took pride in supporting his team. He also had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and was known for his care and empathy toward all creatures. He was the favorite person of his four-legged buddies, Mario and Cash.
A gifted debater, Benjamin had a unique ability to express his thoughts with clarity and precision, earning the respect of those around him. His creativity knew no bounds, whether he was solving complex problems or simply finding new ways to brighten someone's day.
A celebration of Benjamin's life will be held on Friday, November 22nd, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home, Genandt Chapel, 602 N Elida St., Winnebago, IL. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember the life of a remarkable young man.
