Mr. Benjamin “Craig” Swink, 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
He was born February 10, 1960, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Francis Marion Swink, Jr. and Edna Ray Hooker Swink.
He served in the United States Navy on the USS Houston from 1982 until 1986. Craig retired with 25 years of service from RJ Reynolds as a mechanic. In his spare time, he loved planning trips, traveling, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Redskins. Craig’s highlight was when we purchased a golf cart to take Bongo for rides.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Long; brother-in-law, Steve Long; and stepmother, Mildred McCormick Swink.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Carmen Swink; fur baby, Bongo; sister, Tonia Snow (Joe); brother, Terry Swink; two stepbrothers; two stepsisters; father-in-law and mother-in-law; special brother and sisters in law; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Friday, July 18, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Preacher Tim Utt officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
