Bennie Torrence was born in Stephens, Arkansas, July 5, 1946, to Jamerson and Etterine Torrence. He was the 9th of 16 children. On Thursday, July 17, 2025, he was ushered into the Holy presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His parents and 9 siblings preceded him in death. He joins a great cloud of witnesses.

Bennie accepted Christ at an early age at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Stephens, Arkansas, where he served until he relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He then affiliated with Corinth Baptist Church.

Bennie was united in holy matrimony to Bobbie Ivory on November 12, 1966. To this union, two children were born Brian and Douglas. Brian preceded him in death. Bobbie and Bennie shared a marriage of 59 years.

He was a graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1964 and always found much joy in staying in contact with former classmates.

Bennie enjoyed his work experience, which included: Supervisor at Briggs and Stratton Engines for 32 1/2 years and was also employed by We Energy for 10 years. Sometime after retirement, he relocated to his birthplace of Stephens, Arkansas.

Precious memories of Bennie will be cherished by his wife, Bobbie; Son, Douglas (Jeanene); Granddaughter, Nakiah; one special daughter, Dr. Mia Singleton; Siblings: Pearl Wyrick, Virginia Lee, Melvin Kaye Thorn, Betty Smith, Gloria Riveria, James Torrence and Alvin Torrence; one uncle, Deacon Earl Torrence; a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
