Genevieve Marie Jacob-Berger, of Armada, passed away surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born on February 21, 1929, in Dryden, Michigan, Genevieve was the beloved daughter of Charles and Mabel (née Meier) Duckert. She graduated from Romeo High School in 1946 and, two years later, married the love of her life, Roy Jacob, on August 14, 1948. Together they built a warm and vibrant home, raising six children and creating a lifetime of cherished memories until Roy's passing. For many years, Genevieve worked alongside her family in farming before beginning her career

with the United States Postal Service, where she devoted 28 years of dedicated service ultimately becoming the postmaster of Armada until her retirement on January 28, 1997. Later that same year, she was blessed to find love once more, marrying John Berger on April 5, 1997, and gaining a second family who became very dear to her. Genevieve had a deep love for life's simple joys. She enjoyed books, bowling, gardening, and traveling, but her greatest happiness came from gathering her loved ones around the table. Known for her generous hospitality and remarkable cooking, she delighted in preparing holiday meals and celebrations that brought family and friends together. Above all, Genevieve's life was defined by her love for her family. She poured her heart into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and love that will live on through them.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Gail (Tom Truske) Krause, Susan (Tom) Zebelian, Peggy (Mike) Davis, Patti (Mark) Zebelian, Douglas (Tiffany) Jacob, and Scott (Angie) Jacob; step-children, Mary (the late Marvin) Wolak, Margaret (the late Tom) Gibson, Lorraine (Dave Jones) Mabbitt, John (Karen) Berger, Jean (the late Fred) Walkowski, Judy Berger, Susan (John)

Arnott, Bernadette (Doug) Phillips, and Michael Berger; grandchildren, Nicholas (Halie), Allison (Tucker), Neil, Jay, Lauren (Jimmy), Alexa, Brett, Erik (Emily), Carly, Carter (Zoe), Ethan (Ariana), Riley, and Delaney; and great-grandchildren, Palmer, Roy, Evelyn, Charlotte, Lillian, Vivienne, and Isla. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous step-grandchildren, step-

great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren; her cherished family friends, the Shafer family; and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Jacob; her second husband, John Berger; her siblings, Harold, Gladys, Marion, Elmer, Melivin; and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tiffany-Young & Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 S. Fulton, Armada. A funeral service will take place on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with instate beginning at 10:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately at Willow Grove Cemetery in Richmond Township.
