Bernadine M. (Tansel) Johnston, 99, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully August 19, 2025. She was born July 2, 1926 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Frank and Clara (Sakesalski) Koralewski.

Bernadine enjoyed spending time with friends and family, as well as crocheting and listening to country music. She loved everything purple and was often referred to as "the purple lady" or "Grandma Grape."

Bernadine is survived by her sons Louis "Mike" Tansel and Grant (Barb) Tansel, daughters-in-law Kathy Tansel and Barb Tansel and step-son Ron (Joann) Johnston as well as several grandchildren,great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Joe Louis Tansel and Milford "Bill" Johnston, her sons John Tansel and Terry Tansel, daughter-in-law Jan Tansel and siblings Harold Koralewski, Melvin Koralewski and Emmerance Swiczkowski.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
