Bernard “Ben” August Lage, age 87 of Taos, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Ben was born on October 19, 1937, in Taos, a son to the late Andrew Bernard and Theresa Bernadine (Veltrop) Lage.
On April 26, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Tollinger at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2025.
Ben was a lifelong dairy farmer and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos.
He loved his cows and his tractors and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ben is survived by: one son, Robert Lage of Taos; two daughters, Sheila (John) Kaiser of Taos and Michelle (Tim) Burress of Powersville; three grandchildren, Samantha, Wyatt, and Dayton; one brother, Wilbur Lage of Taos; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and spouse of 56 years, Ben was preceded in death by: five brothers, Jimmy, Paul, Walter, Joseph and Lawrence Lage; and three sisters, Loraine Lage, Mary Haller, and Regina Falter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Taos with Fr. Kelechi Uzuegbu officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Parish Cemetery.
Memorial are suggested for Masses in memory of Bernard and Linda.
