Jimmy Ray Davis, 69, of Taos, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.

Born on June 25, 1955, in Pacific, Missouri, Jimmy was the son of the late Marion Davis and Doris Croney. A proud veteran, Jimmy honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he continued a life of dedication and hard work as the Power House Supervisor at Algoa Correctional Center, where he remained until his retirement.

Jimmy was a true outdoorsman, deeply passionate about fishing, hunting, gardening, and canning. He took great pride in his garden and enjoyed sharing his harvest with family and friends. Whether out on a hunting trip or tending to his plants, Jimmy found peace in nature and relished the simplicity of life outdoors.

He was also blessed with a deep love for his family. Jimmy's life was shaped by the relationships he cherished, including his marriage to his first wife, Sonya (Joe) Davis, with whom he shared many years. He later found companionship with Arlene Marie Heckman, who was by his side until her passing in 2023. In more recent years, Kelly Jurgle came into his life, and together they shared many moments of happiness and support.

A beloved brother and loyal friend, Jimmy was known for his quiet strength, sense of duty, and steady presence. He is survived by his brothers and sister: Jerry Davis and his wife, Patty, of South Carolina; Debbie Valentine and her husband, George, of St. Robert, Missouri; and Carl Davis and his wife, Nancy, of Vienna, Missouri.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation to celebrate Jimmy's life on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Meriwether Room at Tyler M. Woods Funeral Director.

Jimmy's legacy of service, his love for the outdoors, and his devotion to family will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
