Bernard Boucher III

Bernard Boucher III, 69, of Edom, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 22, 1957, in Longview, Texas, Bernard lived a life marked by generosity, hard work, and deep love for his family and community.

Bernard grew up in Longview until the age of 10, when his family moved to Houston. He attended high school in Spring Branch and went on to complete two years of college at the University of Houston. He built a successful career in construction and management, working on apartment complexes, motels, and large commercial projects. He relocated to New Jersey in 2002 to remain close to his children before returning to Texas in 2016 to help manage the family farm in Edom. Even while tending to the farm, he continued taking on smaller construction projects to help his neighbors in the Edom and Colfax area for as long as his health allowed.

Bernard had a true passion for flowers and plants, and he was determined to leave a legacy of beautiful color at the farm. His vision for mixing plants and vibrant blooms will live on for years to come. He also had a keen eye for pretty rocks and gemstones, and he proudly pulled for both the Texas Longhorns and the University of Houston Cougars.

Polite, gracious, and always offering a helping hand, Bernard cared more about others than he cared about himself. He supported the Edom Historical Society and Museum and cherished his neighbors and friends.

Above all, Bernard's faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. His family can take comfort knowing he now rests in the arms of his Lord and Savior.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard Boucher Jr., and his mother, Dorothy Wood Boucher. He is survived by his daughter, Allison Elise Boucher; his son, Matthew Alexander Boucher and wife Rebecca; his brother, Mark Riley Boucher and wife Brenda; and his sister, Deborah Renee Graham and husband Greg as well as beloved Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home, 205 South Broad Street, Chandler, Texas 75758. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., with services at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Pastor Lionel Whitaker.
