Morris Edward Baggett Jr., a beacon of faith and a pillar of the community, was called home by his Lord and Savior on March 7, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on October 12, 1946, in Mission, Texas, Morris lived a life characterized by service, devotion, and a warm sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him. He passed away peacefully in Garland, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family.

Morris's life was a testament to his unwavering faith in God and his commitment to family. He is survived by Vicki, his beloved wife of 53 years, his cherished daughter Jennifer Kleppe, and son-in-law Jonathan Kleppe, all of whom he loved deeply and prayed for daily. His role as a husband and father was Morris's greatest source of pride, and the love he shared with his family was the foundation of his life.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston and later an MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso, Morris dedicated 30 years of his life to working as a Computer Audit Specialist in the government. His professional achievements were paralleled by his honorable service in the United States Navy, retiring as a respected Commander after 30 years. Morris's discipline and integrity in his career were matched by his generosity and kindness in his personal life.

Morris was also a devoted Life Group Teacher at LakePointe Church for over two decades, where he shared his deep knowledge of the Bible and his love for Christ with countless individuals. His teaching went beyond words as he lived out the Gospel in his everyday actions.

Traveling with friends and family brought great joy to Morris, and he treasured the memories created on these journeys. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, especially his beloved Volkswagen Beetles. Christian fellowship was not only an interest but a way of life for Morris, who found deep joy in the company of fellow believers.

Morris will be remembered by many as faith-filled, kind, and funny. His laughter was infectious, his advice was sought after, and his presence was a comfort. He had a unique ability to blend wisdom with wit, and his humorous anecdotes will be cherished and retold by those who had the pleasure of hearing them.

As we say goodbye to Morris Edward Baggett Jr., we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a journey completed in the grace of God. His legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire and guide us until we meet again in the presence of our Heavenly Father. Morris's life was a reflection of his favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Indeed, he lived this truth every day, and now he rests in the glory of his Creator, leaving behind a trail of light for us to follow.
