Born in Chestnut Hill on January 30, 1943, Ben was the son of the late Patrick and Theresa (Harkin) Dougherty.

Ben and Mimi raised their 4 children at their loving home in Chalfont.

Ben and Mimi were very involved with instruction for both Marriage Encounter and Pre-Cana through St Jude's Church. Ben loved coaching youth sports, enjoyed skiing and most of all playing golf with Mimi, his children, and friends. Ben was true gentleman and a scholar. I worked for Ben after retiring from the road comic life style. He bailed me out one night at comedy cabaret in Doylestown when the audience folded their arms and wouldn't laugh at my jokes. Ben laughed out loud and told the audience they should to. Ben was kind, funny, compassionate and honorable.
I admired him and was truly grateful for his friendship.

First memory? My interview at B&I! I worked for/with Ben from 2001 to 2012. Unforgettable in so many ways. Touched so many people, including me. Boss, mentor, friend. I will always appreciate his friendship the most. You will never be forgotten, Old Man!
