Albany- Bernard Francis Harney, III, 54, entered into eternal life Monday November 3, 2025 at St. Peter's Hospital. He was the son of Nancy Bello Harney of Lecanto FL and the late Bernard Francis Harney, Jr.
Bernard graduated from Pleasantville High School and then went on to obtain his bachelor's degree from Excelsior University. He currently resided in Albany working for Hamilton Press.
Bernard was a member of the Nu Theta Gamma Fraternity, Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus.
Bernard enjoyed many activities such as biking, golf, disc golf, model building and whittling.
In addition to his mom Bernard is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Skoglund (Peter) of Land O'Lakes, FL and Kerri DeRuyter (Matthew) of Charlotte, NC; nephews Alex and Liam DeRuyter and nieces Lillibeth and Genevieve Skoglund.
Relatives and friends may visit with Bernard's family Friday, November 7, 2025 at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, NY 12206 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Blessed Sacrament Church 607 Central Ave. (Rev. John Bradley Way), Albany, NY 12206 at 12:00 pm.
Donations may be made in Bernard's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis TN 38105 or the American Heart Association PO BOX 840692, Dallas TX 75284.
