Bernice Brooks Obituary

Bernice Rodena Brooks, affectionately called Aunt B, was born July 31st, 1943, in the Cane River, St Andrew to parents Frednell and Almyra Walker, She attended the Friendship Brook All Age School. Upon graduating, she went to work at the stocking factory at 11 Miles Bull Bay for a number of years, then at the Norman Manley International Airport until migrating to the United States in 1981. She settled in Brooklyn, then subsequently moved to The Bronx, where she met, fell in love, and eventually married Jocelyn Brooks. She worked in the healthcare industry for many years. Bernice eventually brought her three children, Carol, Trevor, and Carlene, who joined her in the States. She now had a blended family as her husband had kids of his own. Bernice was loved by everyone she came in contact with. She gave her all to anyone who needed help. She was all about family and wouldn't hesitate to help.

Bernice is survived by her husband Jocelyn, son Trevor, daughter Carlene, daughter-in-law Angella, stepchildren Alcott, Gem, Janet, and Kemar, grandchildren Jelaine, Christopher, Ricardo, Nigel, Jamar, Donovan, Shane, Shadine and Natalie, great-grandkids Chance, Charm, (money) Aaron, Kreshawan, Zyonna, Tilani, Jhace, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her only sister, Urith, and daughter, Carol, predeceased her.

Life as we knew it will never be the same without her. Aunt B you will be tremendously missed. We love you.
