Bernice Hermine Hromadka

Bernice Hermine Hromadka was born May 13, 1936, in Bleiblerville, Texas, to parents, Henry G. Wiecker and Dora Kalkhake Wiecker. She was baptized and confirmed at Welcome Lutheran Church. She attended Santa Anna, Victoria, and Welcome Schools before graduating from Bellville High School in 1954. She left home to work at Gulf Coast Investment in Houston, Texas, as a Clerk-Typist and later advanced to Examiner.

Bernice met Edward J. Hromadka, the love of her life, at the Bill Mraz dance hall. They married on May 26, 1962, in Ammannsville, Texas. After their daughter, Lisa, was born, they moved to Bleiblerville and began cattle ranching on the family farm. They worked hand in hand. She loved being by his side. They loved going to dances and to the many Knights of Columbus and Fourth Degree events with their friends. Bernice and Eddie also worked part-time for Herbert's Meat Market and Catering. Bernice lost her beloved husband suddenly in 1995. She was a strong lady and continued raising cattle and making hay with the help of her son,
Robert. Later, she worked in the O'Bryant Intermediate School Cafeteria.

Bernice did a lot of sewing, baking, canning, and cross-stitching through the years. She loved being outdoors, growing her garden, picking pecans, checking cows, and picking up sticks. She also loved her dog, Buddy, and her many trips to the Bleiblerville Post Office. She enjoyed keeping up with her many friends and talking on the phone. She had great pride in her children, grandsons, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry. She passed away at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station on August 23, 2025, at the age of 89.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Stanley Krebs of Willow Springs, son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Suzanne Hromadka of Bleiblerville, grandsons, Dustin (Jacki) Krebs and Blake (Holly) Krebs, Drew Hromadka, and Colin (Madison) Hromadka. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Delaney, Darcie, and Dawsyn Krebs, Johnathan English and Jullianna Work; Haddie, Maisyn, Morgan, and Harlie Krebs; Charlie and Chandler Hromadka.

Bernice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Hromadka; her parents, Henry and Dora Wiecker; and brother and sister-in-law Elroy and Mabel Fay Wiecker.

Serving as pallbearers for the service are Dustin Krebs, Blake Krebs, Drew Hromadka, Colin Hromadka, Dwayne Wiecker, and Tommy Lange.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bleiblerville Fire Department, to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry, Texas, or to the charity of your choice.

A visitation will be held at the Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by the Rosary at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry, Texas, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by internment at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Industry, Texas
