Bernice was born on July 18, 1960. She was the beloved daughter of Willie C. Stewart and Mary E. Stewart.
Bernice grew up in Indianapolis and got her education in the IPS School System graduating from Crispus Attucks High School in 1978. She also attended ABC Beauty College and became a licensed nail tech.
Bernice worked a variety of jobs. She often volunteered to provide her services as a licensed nail technician providing manicures and pedicures.
Bernice professed her hope in Christ and knew Him to be her Lord and Savior. Mind Over Matter aka M.O.M’s Group. She retired from UPS.
John 14:2 In My Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself, that where I am , there ye may be also. (4)and whether I go ye know.
Let us celebrate knowing that Jesus is The "Promise Keeper." He came with wings spread wide to receive her on Sunday January 29, 2023. The flesh commanded to drop, illness had to flee and Bernice to come forth.
Her parents, Willie Stewart and Mary Stewart, grandparents; 1 sister, Regina Mitchell and 3 brothers; Danny Harris, Eddie Murrell and Michael Hicks preceded her in death.
Bernice leaves to cherish her memory 1 daughter Nekea Vaughn (Brian); 2 sons, Dejuan Hurt; Cortlin Stewart all of Indianapolis, Indiana; 2 grandchildren, Brian and Bexley Vaughn of Indianapolis, Indiana; 6 sisters, Jeanette Grays of Chicago, IL; Kim Murrell of Houston Texas; Jobie Pinner, Tonya Stewart, Teresa Stewart and Sheila Stewart all of Indianapolis, IN; 2 brothers, Keevin McPherson and Bobby Hicks both of Indianapolis, IN; 1 aunt, Sarah Hunt of Indianapolis, Indiana and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bernice leaves to cherish her memory her best friend and companion J.C. Crumedy Jr.
The family of Bernice M. Stewart is humbled and appreciates your expression of love and kindness. Thank you for your phone calls and words of encouragement. May the Lord bless each of you
