Berta Monzon

Berta L. Monzon, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on October 4, 1936, to the late Porfirio and Emilia (Bran) Alvarado. Berta was the loving wife of the late Mario R. Monzon, Sr.

Educated in Guatemala, Berta was employed at Leach & Garner Company and the Crew Company, both in Attleboro, MA. Her career as a platter in the jewelry industry showcased her attention to detail and creative spirit. Despite the challenges of her journey from Guatemala City to Providence, RI, and finally to Attleboro, MA, Berta remained resilient, always carrying her love for her family and her dedication to her work.

Berta was a beacon of creativity and love in the lives of those she touched. She demonstrated her creative side through her hobbies, which included cooking, painting, and puzzles. Berta's dedication to her family was the bedrock of her life, and it was this devotion that defined her. She was an active member of the Church of God in Attleboro, MA, where her faith and fellowship were a significant part of her life.

Berta is survived by her Children, Irma Alvarado, of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Sandra Sosa, of Swansea, Ma, Luis Monzon and his wife Elsa, of Central Falls, RI, Mario Monzon, Jr. and his wife Sheryl, of North Attleboro, MA, Fernando Monzon and his wife Sophan, of Attleboro, MA; His grandchildren Noel Cabrera, of Guatemala City, Guatemala, Debora Amaral and her husband Joseph, of Swansea, MA, Walter Sosa and his wife Emi, of Attleboro, MA, Jaqueline Scott and her Husband Walter, of Warwick, RI, Stephanie Matos and her husband Eric, of Johnston, RI, Luis Monzon of Central Falls, RI; several great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and Nephews. Her life was marked by a loving commitment to her family and friends, and her loss will be felt deeply by all who knew her.

Berta's family would like to extend a special thank you to her sister, Virginia Gonzalez, for taking such great care of her for the past several years as her Personal Care Assistant.

All funeral services will be private.
