May 15, 1936 – August 7, 2025

Bertha O. Mireles, 89, of Bandera, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, to Antonio and Julia Ortiz.

Bertha dedicated many years of her life to her work at Reed Candle Company before retiring. She will be remembered for her hard work, devotion to her family, and the warmth she shared with everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Joe Mireles (Cheryl) and Steven Sigmon (Marie); her grandsons, Antonio Mireles (Katherine) and Justin Sigmon (Leslie, Fiancé); and her siblings, Joe Ortiz, Yolanda Torres, Robert Ortiz, Diana Cruz (David), Jesse Ortiz (Letty) Karen Ortiz (Joe); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Olivia, Emma, Antonio Jr., Pete, Maria Diana, Alicia, Estella, Roy, and Martha.

Family and friends are invited to attend services at Castillo Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. The funeral procession will depart following the 9:30 a.m. chapel service on Friday, August 15, 2025, with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.

Bertha's life was a testament to love, resilience, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
