Bertha Lavada Waites Newell, 74, of Vancleave, MS passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in Vancleave.
Mrs. Newell was born in Biloxi, MS and was a resident of Vancleave for the last 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ras and Flora Campbell Waites; her grandson, Marcus Chase Williams; her sisters, Polly and Norma; and her brothers, Gavin, Cleo and Kenneth.
Mrs. Newell’s survivors include her husband of 48 years, William H. Newell; her sons, Steven (Patricia) Leger and Larry (Kimberly) Leger; her daughter, Stephania (Todd) Williams; her sister, Maxine Parker; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
