Bertha E. Rampe, age 78, of Bakersfield, California passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 5:04 p.m. at Memorial Hospital, Bakersfield, California.
Bertha was born on August 26, 1945, in Richmond, Kentucky, to Newland and Irene McWharter who are both deceased. She has four brothers Bobby, Donald, Marvin (deceased) and William McWharter (living) of Georgia. She was married to Paul E. Rampe who is deceased. She has two children, a daughter Tonya Rampe of Columbus, Ohio, and a son, John (Linda) Rampe of Bakersfield, California. Bertha has four grandchildren, Dai-Shawn, Anthony, Johnathan and Jayden with a fifth grandchild on the way. She has a host of nieces, nephews and other family members throughout the country. Bertha was a long-time member of her church choir at St. Gerards (Lima, Ohio) and often volunteered her time there. She loved music, dancing, singing, shopping and good food. Bertha enjoyed traveling to new locations and encountering new experiences. She truly enjoyed the finer things in life and loved every opportunity to have fun and a good time. Bertha would light up the room and put a smile on everyone's face she encountered. She is deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, at St. Clement Catholic Church located at 4536 Vine St. Cincinnati, Ohio. A visitation will precede the mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
