On Thursday July 11, 2024, Bertie Mae Scott Green entered into the hands of God and was United with her late husband, Larry Green. She was born on July 16, 1950, to the late Noel Scott and Lula Bell Jones Scott. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Bernice Green Sanders; three brothers, Norman Scott, Philip Scott, and Noel Scott; two sisters, Katie Webb and Ida L. Scott.
Bertie leaves her legacy and cherished memories to her grandson, Larry Shamond Green, her great-grandson, Vantaevis Green, her sister, Dorothy Acker and Doris (Willie) Lewis, her brother, Clarence (Theresa) Scott, her sister-in-law, Seema Scott, special sister, Trifocia "Pee-Wee" Jones and a very special friend, Jimmy Brown as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Bertie was a dedicated Christian woman of faith.She devoted her time to her family and God. She graduated from Riverside High School Class of 69. Bertie was a loyal employee at Yoder Brothers for over 20 yrs when she retired. If you came in contact with her you would know she was a woman of God. She gave her life over to God at a young age and was a member of St. Luke F.B.H Church until her husband passed. Bertie loved to sing and was a member of the Community Crusade Choir. She also attended New Holly Light Baptist Church until she entered heaven.
The funeral service for Mrs. Green will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 12:00 pm at New Holly Light Missionary Baptist Church, internment will follow at Memory Gardens, 586 Issaqueena Trail, Central, SC.
Public viewing: Friday, July 19, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
