Bertrand Weening Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Borek Jennings Funeral Homes - Howell Memorial Chapel on Oct. 22, 2022.
His Legacy Bertrand Thomas Weening, 95, passed away October 20, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1927, in Wyandotte, Michigan to Bertrand Weening and Marie Alice Gorham. Bert married the love of his life, Norma Jean DeJonge, on August 23, 1955, in Ludington, Michigan. Bert will be remembered as a man of faith and charisma. He was known to often say "I might not always be right, but I'm never wrong." Bert loved his work as an architectural engineer at Ford Motor Company setting up machinery and troubleshooting at assembly plants throughout the country. Outside of work he loved fishing, catching steelhead trout with groups of friends up in Canada, and lots of salmon on charter boats with family. He also loved to sing and traveled performing as part of the "Beyond Belief" seniors singing group from Novi, Michigan. As a man of charm, Bert often would serenade waitresses or nurses and get exactly what he wanted, to the wide eyes of onlookers. Bert was a man of faith and committed to his church. He would also regularly donate blood and was always happy to raise funds for a number of different charities.
His Family Bert will be missed by his wife, Norma Jean; his three daughters, Michelle Weening, Deborah (Joseph) DePasqualin, and Sally Price; grandchildren, Diane (Elias) Mills, and Erica (Zachary) Hoffman; and great grandchildren, Abigail and Freya. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gary Weening; and sister, Marilyn Augustine.
His Farewell Bert's family and friends will gather from 2-4 PM on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Milford United Methodist Church, Milford, Michigan. His Community Farewell will be held at 4 PM Thursday, October 27, 2022. Pastor Doug McMunn will serve as Celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warriors. Please leave a message of comfort for Bert's family at 1-877-231-7900, or sign his guestbook at www.borekjennings.com.
