Weening, Norma Jean
Howell, Michigan
Her Legacy Norma Jean Weening, 91, passed away February 1, 2024. She was born on January 13, 1933, in Shelby, Michigan to Oliver John DeJonge and Rose Marie (Boone) DeJonge. Norma married the love of her life, Bertrand Weening, on August 23, 1955, in Ludington, Michigan. She will be remembered as very talented lady who perfected the art of crafting doing decoupage and layered paper art. She did beautiful pencil drawings and made many dolls that included great detail and handmade clothes. Norma's sewing talents also were used to make her daughters matching/coordinated outfits as she always felt that she and her girls should be dressed to impress. She had high standards and always wanted to present her "best" to others. Norma loved to go shopping and go out to eat, especially to have a good fish dinner. Norma was also known for her ability to bake many things, but was best known for her famous, "Rose's Teal Loaf". She was strong in her faith and a member of Milford United Methodist Church.
Her Family Norma will be missed by her children, Michell Weening, Deborah (Joseph) DePasqualin, Sally Price; grandchildren Diane (Elias) Mills, Erica (Zachary) Hoffman; great grandchildren Abigail Mills and Freya Hoffman; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bert; her parents, Oliver and Rose DeJonge; her brother, Bud DeJonge.
