Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Louise Canada, 88, of Lincoln, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Cortney Keith and Reverend Greg Tankersley. Mrs. Canada will be laid to rest following the service in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, one hour prior to service.
Mrs. Canada passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Canada was preceded in death by her parents, Colvin Clay, Sr. and Willie Mae Clay; her husband, Aubrey "Blackie" Canada; two brothers, Mike Clay and Bill Clay; and one sister, Emma Clark.
Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Canada are her children, Donny Canada (Pam), Ronny Canada, and Jeff Canada (Susan); her grandchildren, Christopher Tulloss (Lyndsay), Shannon Amrine, Blake Canada (Brandon), Heather Wideman (Nick), Dustin Canada (Shannon), Leslie Eastman (Seth), and Christopher Wallace; her great-grandchildren, Havyn Wideman, Natalie Wideman, Logan Canada, Lena Eastman, Brannon Tulloss (Colleen), and Destinee Nagel (Preston); one great-great-granddaughter, Lilly Jean Tulloss; one great-great-grandson, Finn Nagel; two brothers, Sonny Clay and Dennis Clay (Bert); several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Faye Clay.
Mrs. Canada was a Baptist by faith and loved the Lord. She was a caring and loving wife and mother, who put her family first in all she did. Mrs. Canada enjoyed cooking for those she loved and especially loved family meals on Sundays. She was a graduate of Weaver High School and retired after working over 30 years with JC Penney. Mrs. Canada was a hard-working and never wavered to help provide for her family. She was a precious "Mawmaw" and adored her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
