Bessie Legendre Obituary
Bessie “Granny” “GiGi’ Babin Legendre, 88, a native of Luling, LA and a resident of Thibodaux, LA, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, June 9, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thibodaux, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Raceland, LA.
She is survived by her son, John Legendre; daughters, Mary Vorenkamp (Paul), Michelle Chaix and Suzanne Aucoin (Arthur); grandchildren, Ashley, Caroline, Brienne, Lindsay, Kade, Michael, Marissa, Bradley, Thomas, Emily, Brandon, Abby, and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Guy Legendre; son-in-law, Bryan Chaix; parents, Alcee Babin and Irma Champagne Babin and brother, Norris Babin.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was strong in her faith and found comfort in her devotion to the Blessed Mother. She was passionate about cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Her gift was giving, and she measured with her heart.
