Bessie Parsons Obituary
Bessie was born October 12, 1931 to the late Elmer Sr. and Beulah Kincaid. She is also preceded in death by her Husband John Parsons; son, Alan Parsons; sisters, Dorcas Kincaid and Irene Robertson; brothers, Elmer Jr. Kincaid, Kyle Kincaid, Cecil Kincaid, Harvey Kincaid, Jerry Kincaid and Ashley Kincaid.
She was the fifth of twelve children, raised in Kincaid WV, and graduated from Collins High School in Oak Hill, Class of 1951. She moved to Charleston when she was 24 to attend secretarial school. In Charleston, she met John Parsons, whom she married on October 18, 1958, and were married 60 years at the time of his homegoing. Bessie was a Christian and an ordained minister in the Church of God (Anderson). She and John served in many churches over their married life, serving in many roles. At Campmeeting 2024 she was honored for having served the church for 70 years.
Left to cherish her memories is her son, Timothy Parsons (Amanda)of Dunbar; daughter in law, Nancy Parsons of South Charleston; granddaughter, Crystal Hays of Nitro; grandsons, William and Walker Parsons of Dunbar; sisters, Juanita Keller of Oak Hill, Anita Young of Charleston, Linda Berry (Kenny) of Tornado; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Rev. Michael Graley officiating. Entombment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
