Beth Lynn Benoy (née Stevenson), age 72, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025, at United Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota after a recent cancer diagnosis.

Born on November 7, 1952, in St. Paul, MN, Beth was the daughter of Alton (Steve) and Verna Mae Stevenson. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1970 and went on to build a meaningful career that reflected her dedication and versatility. Over the years, she worked for Minnesota Mutual, Allied Solutions, and Securian. Her professional journey also included time spent working for a bank and had a few cherished years providing in-home daycare—roles that allowed her to share her warmth and care with others.

Beth’s life was marked by her deep love for animals, music, and flower gardening. From her childhood pet duck named Peekaboo to the many dogs, horses, birds, cats—and even the occasional raccoon—she cared for throughout her life, Beth’s compassion for animals was unwavering. Her garden bloomed under her attentive care, much like the lives of those who knew her. Music was another constant joy in her life—a source of comfort and celebration through all seasons of life.

Above all else, Beth found profound happiness in her family. She was a devoted mother to Megan (Benoy) Anders and the late Brian Benoy. Her bond with her daughter Megan remained strong throughout her life, and she welcomed son-in-law Nick Anders into the family with open arms. Her grandsons Christian and Roman Anders were the light of her life; their laughter and presence brought her immeasurable joy.

Beth shared many years with her significant other Jim Kunde, whose companionship enriched her later years. She also held close ties with extended family members including her sister-in-law, Ginny Zuercher. The memory of those who preceded her in death—her beloved son Brian Benoy; brother Paul Stevenson; parents Alton (Steve) and Verna Mae Stevenson; and best friend Sandy Benoy—remained ever present in her heart.

Beth will be remembered as generous, kind, and loving—a woman whose gentle spirit touched both people and animals alike. Her legacy lives on in the blooming flowers she once tended, the melodies she cherished, and most importantly, in the hearts of those who loved her.

Please join in a celebration of Beth’s life on Thursday, May 29th. There will be an inurnment at 1pm in the Hudson Willow River Cemetery followed by an open house celebration from 2-5pm (with a brief presentation at 3pm) at Big Guys BBQ in Hudson, WI. All are welcome to come to join at either event. Please dress comfortable and casually, just as Beth would like it.
