Beth Ann Fagerstrom Peterson, 67, of 188 S. Alleghany Ave., West Ellicott, died peacefully Wednesday morning, July 2, 2025, in her home following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Beth lived a life of passion, compassion, and a deep faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Beth, a granddaughter of Swedish immigrants, was born April 26, 1958, in Patterson, N.J., to Dr. Charles Daniel and June Elizabeth Holmes Fagerstrom.
She grew up at her parents' home at 200 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood. She attended Celoron Elementary School and graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1976. Her activities were highlighted by gym club, skiing, and riding her family's pony, Rocket; and volunteering for Special Olympics and Jamestown General Hospital.
Beth earned an associate's degree from Daytona Community College, Daytona Beach, Fla., and WCA School of Radiology in Jamestown. She took great pride in serving her patients with great care in her capacity as an MRI technologist in Maryland and for Insight Imaging at WCA Hospital, and in later years as a dental assistant for Dr. David Todd.
She met her husband, Jon William Peterson, while skiing at Cockaigne in Cherry Creek, N.Y. He later proposed while they were riding the chairlift at Cockaigne. They were married July 19, 1985 in First Lutheran Church in Jamestown.
She was a member of Zion Covenant Church and Koinonia of Jamestown and Chautauqua County.
Beth enjoyed family, traveling, bicycling, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and Koinonia, and above all else she loved being a mother.
She will be remembered for being a devoted Mom, loving wife, and loyal sister.
Along with her husband, Jon, surviving are two sons: Jon William Peterson Jr. (Sarah) of Jamestown, and Hunter Daniel Peterson (Ashley) of Augusta, Ga.; a daughter, Kacie Elizabeth Peterson Bellinger (Eric) of Syracuse; a grandson, Trey William Peterson of Jamestown; and a sister, Krista Ann Fagerstrom Cass (Stephen) of Frewsburg.
She was preceded in death by her father on Aug. 9, 2006; her mother on Aug. 13, 2011; and a brother, Steven Holmes Fagerstrom, on April 17, 2018.
A Celebration of Life service will be on Sept. 6, 2025, in Zion Covenant Church. The family will receive friends on Sept. 5, 2025, in the Lind Funeral Home. Further details and times will be announced later.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to Camp Mission Meadows, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Koinonia of Jamestown and Chautauqua County.
