Beth Wishon

Beth Wishon, 92, of Andrews passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 with her family by her side. She was a native of Graham County and raised by her maternal grandparents. She married John Carl "Bud" Wishon on May 7, 1949 and settled in Andrews, where she lived the remainder of her life. Beth greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and relished in the fun and excitement they brought to her life. She was a fiercely independent woman. Her family was her life and she was proud of each and every one of them.

She was the daughter of the late Edith George and wife of the late John Carl "Bud" Wishon who passed on January 9, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Wishon Jr.; two sisters, Rachel Conley and Leah Mitchell; two brothers, Larry and Tommy Mason; and her beloved boxer, Heidi.

Surviving are three grandchildren; Mary Wishon White and husband Matthew of Andrews, NC, Sherri Hill and Anthony of Mills River, NC, and Patrice Wishon of Asheville, NC; seven great-grandchildren, Landon, Haydon, and Lauren White, Blake Hill and fiancé Karlie Broders, Riley Hill and Sean Massie, Graham Hill and wife Kenna, and Jacob Wishon; one great-great granddaughter, Eleanor Hill; three brothers, Lionel Mason and wife Faye, Don Mason, and Ray "Buddy" Mason; a sister-in-law, Virginia Mason; and caretaker and friend, Jackie Ledford. Beth is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.

Interment will be in Valleytown Cemetery at a later date.
