Michael Millsaps Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ivie Funeral Home - Andrews on Feb. 16, 2026.
Michael K. "Haystack" Millsaps, age 74 of Andrews, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on November 28, 1951, in Alcoa, TN, to the late Reuben and Noel McGaha Millsaps. He is now with his Lord and Savior, who he served diligently throughout his life. Mike had a special love for the Lord and praised Him as a gifted and anointed musician, playing the bass. He was also an ordained minister of the Church of God faith and loved studying the Word of God. He was bold in his witnessing about the Lord, and if you didn't know the Lord, Mike was going to tell you about Him and prayed you would receive Him. Mike travelled with several gospel groups; The Keeble Family Faithway Fellowship, Word of Deliverance (Tim and Jean Garland), and the Glory Road Quartet. In his early years, he played music with Dale Houston and Grace. Mike also loved to help with revivals and the Andrews Farmer's Market.

Mike was known for his sense of humor and made everything fun. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. Mike enjoyed carpentry work and was also a licensed electrician. He was also a licensed cosmetologist and worked in salons in Maryville, TN. Mike also worked locally for Stanley Furniture, MOOG, and IOI.

Mike had a giving and servant's heart. He would give you anything he had and not think a thing about it.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a wife, Helen Millsaps, a step-granddaughter, Lea Stover, and two brothers, Darrell and Steven Millsaps.

Surviving are his wife of almost 27 years, Vickie Taylor Millsaps of Andrews; a stepson, Randy Rogers and wife, Amy of Robbinsville; a granddaughter, Mandy Price and husband, Jim of Maryville, TN; two step grandchildren, Macy Garland and husband Matthew, and Payton Rogers and wife Maley all of Robbinsville; three great-grandchildren, Houston Price and wife Emily, Hunter Price, Hallie Morton and husband Isaiah, all of Maryville, TN; a step great-grandchild Osie Mae Rogers of Robbinsville; and a great-great-grandchild Wrenley Morton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in the chapel of the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, with Revs. Tim Garland and Eugene Taylor officiating. Interment will be in Bob West Cemetery in Robbinsville, NC, with Military Honors provided by Hayesville VFW Post 6812, Hayesville American Legion Post 532, Murphy American Legion Post 96, and U.S. Marine Corps. Pallbearers will be Randy Rogers, Payton Rogers, Matthew Garland, Jim Price, Hunter Price, and Houston Price.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the Ivie Funeral Home, Andrews, prior to the services.
