Beth Wolf Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home - Bardstown on Jul. 3, 2025.
Beth Wolf, 68, of Louisville, passed away July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A fierce companion, collaborator, and competitor, she championed causes big, small, and everything in between, unfailingly supporting her family with whole-hearted grace. Her bright blue eyes and shining smile were a constant reminder of her joy and love for others. She had a laugh that found its way to your ears long before she entered a room, with a hug following closely on its heels.
In her passionate pursuit of athletic endeavors, she found her first love of sport in basketball, with her time as a Mercy Missile athlete sparking the active lifestyle she was famous for. She went on to excel on the racquetball court, traveling for, and winning of course, championships all over the country. It was racquetball that brought her one of her life's greatest joys, her loving husband of 35 years Jim McQueen. In recent years, she became a founding member and consistent fixture at Orangetheory St. Matthews and has become a powerhouse in the Louisville pickleball community (we would expect nothing less).
Beth loved to travel, and was a curator of beautiful things, collecting art from her journeys to Sedona, Belize, Italy, Costa Rica, Prague, Bordeaux, Madrid, Portugal, and countless more. But more importantly, she curated the most beautiful collection of people to hold closely in her circle; truly her proudest and most beloved legacy. She cultivated community everywhere she went, carving out networks of friends who became family in all corners of her life.
In her career spanning nearly 50 years, she was a fierce proponent of team-centered success. She set the standard for leadership and excellence in marketing. She was a beacon for women in business, creating her own seat at the table, and leaving one open next to her for the next young woman to follow. Dedicating the last 15 years of her career to the sign and graphics industry, she was a sounding board, mentor, and tireless advocate for doing what was right; a philosophy that guided her life as well as her career. Her professional legacy has shaped the industry in concrete ways, but in abstract ways too, leaving all those she influenced asking "what would Beth do?" in challenging situations.
A voracious reader, she was happiest in her chair with her feet up, a book in hand, Jim reclined next to her, and with a decaf Lipton tea, close by. Her generous spirit, steadfast support, and firecracker sass will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
The daughter of the late Henry A. and Helen G. Wolf, she was also preceded in death by her sister Maura Ellison, and nephew Joey Schreck. Among those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Jim McQueen; siblings Kevin Schreck (Mark), Dan Wolf (Patty), Hank Wolf, twin sister Barbara Carter, David Wolf, and Emily Grady; step-daughter Kathy (Brian) and her sons Robert and Will, step-son James (Shannon), and her many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home (3800 Bardstown Road, 40218) on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 3–8 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will take place at the same location on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Mercy Day Scholarship Fund at Mercy Academy and St. Joseph's Home Little Sisters of the Poor in Beth's honor.

Beth was always a ray of sunshine as far back as I can remember from OLOL, and the neighborhood. The world needs more souls like Beth´s. I can only hope that of all the lives she touched, they will honor her memory by emulating her life lessons. Rest in peace and rise in glory, Beth. You have left a wonderful mark on this world. Peace on the family. May they feel the presence of her spirit, and be comforted by fond memories of her, of which there are no doubt many.
