Bettie was born in Huntsville, Alabama on April 8, 1936 to the late Floyd Haynes and Fronie Beatrice (Cobb) Watson.
She graduated from Franklin High School. Bettie was a Jehovah's Witness. She enjoyed crocheting baby blankets, crossword puzzles, and was an incredible cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Donald Watson; stepson, Curt Gholston.
Bettie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert Michael Gholston of Greenwood, IN; children, Terry Lewis (Carolyn) of Whiteland, IN, Danny Lewis (Kathy) of Franklin, IN, and Jeff Lewis (Maryanne) of Stilesville, IN; stepson, Kevin Gholston (Cindy) of Melbourne, FL; stepdaughter, Deborah Hogg (David) of Aurora, IN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Nell Rose Pettit, Jan Watson, Donna Watson, Don Watson, and Lydonna Haynes; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Kingdom Hall, 2508 North Morton Street, Franklin, IN 46131.
