Betty Ruth (Kyker) Butler was born to Henry Thomas and Nancy Edith (Thompson) Kyker on April 20, 1934 in Ringling, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on September 5, 2025 at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

Betty grew up in Ringling, graduating from Ringling High School in 1952. She married W.C. Butler on May 13, 1952 in Ardmore, OK, making their home in Ringling. To the union two sons were born. The family moved to Lawton in 1966 and then to Walters in 1971.

Betty had been a hairdresser, worked for Town and Country Homes, and worked at Ft. Sill, OK as a Dental Therapy Assistant for 20 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Walters. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, thrifting, crossword puzzles, and loved getting strawberry ice cream cones from Braum’s.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nancy Kyker; and siblings, Eva Lee Connell, James Kyker, Henry Kyker Jr., and Dorotha Pack.

Survivors include her sons, Stan Butler of Randlett, OK and Brad Butler and daughter-in-law Tammi of Sapulpa, OK; 4 grandchildren, Michele Goodwin and husband Dan of Lancaster, SC, Whitni Greer of Sapulpa, OK, Karli Myers and husband Jordan of Glenpool, OK, and Shane Butler and Ty of Cookietown, OK; her great grandchildren, Matherli Greer, Allison Ruth Goodwin, Elli Beth Greer, Wallace Gamble, Hudson Greer, and Natalie Pearl Goodwin, Luke Myers and Lilli Myers; many other relatives and friends.
