Mrs. Betty (Smith) Cary of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky having attained the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 14 days. She was born on Saturday, February 19, 1944, in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of James "Jimmy" & Mary Smith. She was of the Christian faith, a member of Hanover Church of Christ, and was a loving homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernal Cary, whom she wed on December 2, 1961, brother, Joseph Smith, sisters, Viola Hurd, Darlene Fletcher, Louise McCoy, brothers-in-law, Bennett Hurd, Don Fletcher, and Bobby Jaggers.

She is survived by her children, Jay Cary (Tracy), Greg (Tammy) Cary, Tina (Barry) Collins, all of Burkesville, Kentucky, siblings, Donnie (Sharon) Smith, Anna Faye Jaggers, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, grandchildren, Brandon Cary, Jacey (Trevor) Matthews, Nathan (Jennifer) Cary, Bobby Cary (Haley), Sarah (Bradie) Flowers, Jonathan (Katie) Collins, Nikkia, Hanna, Halee, great-grandchildren, Dixon, Cash, Josie, Tyler, Ethan, Lexie, Hendrix, Harrison, Haysen, James, Harper, Avery, Reece, Norah, Emery, Jude, Grady, Alice, Bennett and a great-granddaughter, Daphne Flowers..

The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM C.S.T. in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Lanny Smith and Bro. Tim Struthers officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5, 2025, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in The Memory Chapel until the funeral hour on Monday afternoon. Burial will be in the Cary Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky.
