Mrs. Nellie Mae (Crawford) Froedge of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Cumberland County native, departed this life of Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at her residence Sumner County, Tennessee having attained the age of 82 years, 3 months, and 1 day. She was born in Burkesville, Kentucky on Monday, June 22, 1943, the daughter of Jesse Frank & Lola Mae (Blythe) Crawford.

Nellie was a Christian and member of Kemper Height Church of Christ for the past few years. Previously she was a member of Campbell Road Church of Christ and Riverside Drive Church of Christ. She spent much time as a secretarial volunteer for both churches. She was an avid reader and loved books. She will be remembered by her love of sewing and smocking. She smocked for a wholesale company named "Snips and Snails." She also made many outfits and dresses called " Nellie's Originals." She lived in Louisville, Kentucky for 2 years, but spent most of her adult life in the Nashville/Goodlettsville, Tennessee area. She was a graduate of Spencerian College in Louisville. Nellie retired from Metro Nashville Board of Education in the Director's office. Throughout her son's years in grade school and high school she served as an executive on PTA boards and Stratford Men's Club. She was also a "Good Friend Volunteer."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bobby Gene Froedge, whom she wed on August 12, 1961, maternal grandparents, William Thomas & Renia Blythe, paternal grandparents, Thomas J. & Mary Maglin Crawford, brothers, William Thomas Crawford, Charles Walter Crawford, and Dr. John Paul Crawford.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Alan Froedge (& Melodie Grace), Michael Thomas (& Tracy) Froedge, grandchildren, Chase Thomas Froedge, and Ella Graclyn Froedge, sister-in-law, Nancy Crawford, beloved animal companion, Bella, several nieces, nephews, family and many friends.

The funeral service was conducted on Monday, September 29, 2025, in the sanctuary of the Kemper Heights Church of Christ, with Bro. Mike Richardson officiating.

A graveside service followed in the Casey Fork Cemetery in Metcalfe County Kentucky, with Bro. Raymond Castillo and Bro. Mike Richardson officiating. Pallbearers were Otis Rigsby, Kelby Walker, Tristen Walker, Ian Walker, Matt Cox, Chase Froedge. Honorary Pallbearers were Floyd Long, Dr. Melvin Hill, Dudley Gray, Gale Bryant, Lanny Judd, Carl Morris, Jim Young, Kenny Cook, Cowboy, George Davis, and Wayne Davenport.

Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky was honored to be in charge of all the arrangements.
