Funeral services for Betty Cassels, 80, of Winnsboro, will be 11 am Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Whittington and Bro. Plase Cassels officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 - 8 pm Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the church.

Betty was born June 17, 1945, in Winnsboro to the union of the late Timothy Parker and the late Georgia Mae Temple Parker and passed from this life on August 23, 2025, at her residence in Winnsboro.

Betty was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She worked at Franklin Guest Home and then at Legacy Nursing Center as a CNA; after her retirement she enjoyed her chickens, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Joe Parker, Lester Parker, and Andy Parker.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years Plase Cassels, Jr. of Winnsboro; daughter, Melody Pamplin and husband John of Winnsboro; two sons: Hardy Delane Weeks and Shannon of Winnsboro and Plase Cassels, III and wife Tonya of Walland, TN; one sister, Marlene Boyte of Bastrop; three brothers: Randy Parker and wife Linda of Bastrop, Ramage Parker and wife Virginia of Woodland, MS, and Timmy Parker and wife DeeDee of McComb, MS; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bo Cassels, Darrell Crum, Chuck Franklin, Justin Franklin, Allen Osborn, John Pamplin and Ronald Weeks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Carroll, Paige Chapman, and Landon Jones.
